Whittaker's chocolate hokey pockey

today room 7 had the opportunity to taste the Whittaker's hokey pokey chocolate.I had to hold it in my hand but try not to eat it we had to smell it smelt like a chocolate waterfall and tasted like a sweet, sticky, slimy crunchy chocolate. It was like a waterfall melting down my throat.

What causes the seasons

Seasons happen throughout the year and include autumn, spring, summer and winter

in autumn the leaves start to change colour the colours that the leaves turn into are red, yellow and brown. In

autumn the weather is cooler not to hot or not too cold.

in summer it is a good time to go to the beach and tanning because it's so hot.

In spring all the leaves and plants bloom out beautifully and in the northern hemisphere the day time is longer and the nights are shorter.

in winter the weather is colder and best to have hot cocoa to keep yourself warm and cozy it's best to lie in bed and watch movies.

The star dome obsevatory

One sunny morning Glen brae School went on a wonderful trip to Star dome Observatory planetarium.

Once we got to star dome Rm eight and Rm 7 had a quick snack before we went into stardom  once we went in we went to a room where this lady was teaching us about the solar system one of the facts that she told us that the sun is actually the same size as a normal star it's just that we're closer to the sun than all the other stars.

We had a very good day at the star-dome observatory.

what i am greatful for in 2015

This year 2015 I am grateful for going to the USA, getting milk in school and for participating in sports. I also want to achieve stage 6 in maths.

I am grateful for going to u.s.a I had loads of fun there. The places that i went to was Utah, St George, Logan, Las Vegas and LA. My Family and I were traveling for 4 hours 2 hours 6 hours and sometimes the whole day, but it was all worth it. My favourite city was Las Vegas. At Las Vegas there was one place I was preparing for the whole time i was there. People called it circus circus it has loads of places. there's shops buffets and the place that i wanted to go the most the adventuredome it has loads of roller coasters my two favorite one is the canyon blaster and Eloco the roller coasters go upside down spins around but the whole reason why i went was because of general conference and for a few birthdays including my birthday i even danced like cultural dancing.

I am also grateful for  participating in rugby league I was really happy when I heard the players for the league team. it was really fun i almost tried but then i got pushed but i still fun even my friends had fun thats what its all about.

I am grateful for the free milk daily milk is good for your bones and have calcium, iron  is healthy for you.

By the end of the i want to achieve level 6 in my maths the only reason i can do that is do studdy ladder, sunshine online and my homework

   

my holidays

My holidays

During my holidays I went to the United States of America. The Cities I went to were St George, Logan, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York.

My favourite city was Las Vegas because of the strip, if anyone here does not know what’s the strip,  it's where you walk down a path where you see colourful lights. . I loved all of the colourful, bright lights. We also saw the Hoover Dam  it was an amazing experience the last city my family and I went to was LA. I seriously didn't like the heat in L.A. I was like a furnace.  

I also went to the amazing Disneyland. When I was at Disneyland I took pictures with Scooby Doo, Spongebob, Dracula and Shaggy from Scooby Doo. My favourite rides were the Crusty City 3D it was so funny and fantastic. It was like we were in the cartoon because when we had the glasses on, they would be on a rollercoaster while trying to crash into us.

My second favourite one was called Transformers revenge of megatron 3D, it was really cool. You would have to jump in a dark blue car it would drive you around and it would drift, zoom fast and there was a missile that blew up on the screen but it was apart of the show. When it blew up there was heat coming on us we were driving around for two minutes. We also went to Universal Studios and saw megatron, i took a picture with him. He was mean he asked me if i'm an Autobot or a Decepticon, I said Autobot and then he said for me to get lost. Afterwards we went to the transformers 3D ride it was cool.  I even went to the Krustyland.  

The trip was a really beautiful experience for everyone reading this.    

training for cross country

Today Room 7 began training for the inter-school cross country “Go at a slow pace, so you can go faster than the person that  

zoomed off.” said my Teacher. First, Room 7 did some warm ups, so we don't pull a muscle while we run. Then we ran two laps around Glen-brae Schools large field. When we were jogging, my best friend Loto said “Come on, come on, you can do it.” So I listened to him and kept running. He motivated me to do my best.

Me and my friend had finished doing two laps around the field. We were huffing and puffing, I was really tired and my throat was really dry so I needed water really badly. I also had a stitch and it was really bad. We all had fun training for cross country. But I was also terrified about doing two laps because our field was really big.

why insects are good for our healthy diet

We should eat insects as part of a healthy diet.

I agree with this statement because, they are healthy,

they are free free and cheaper to produce.

We should eat insects because one they have fibre, iron and protein if you look at beef and chicken they only have protein but we need a lot of iron, fibre and protein for our bodies so we can stay fit and healthy.

They are cheaper than chicken and beef you can

just go anywhere and get a insect but not at home. instead of spending buckets of money to buy chicken and beef.

Today room 7 got tooth brusher's we challenged our selves to brush our teeth for 2 minutes allot of us couldn't take the pain so they spat it out.

Glenbrae school is the best school in the world. Glenbrae is the best school in the world because we have sports, we are cybersmart, and we have Duffy books.

Glenbrae offers sports gear, so we can stay fit and healthy. We have fun playing sports. like athletics, rugby, soccer,

baseball. We sometimes come first when we compete in sports that we do, but sometimes we come third.

We are also cybersmart because we look at what we are doing when we are on the internet. We learn about what to post on the internet when we are mad or not mad.

 

Glenbrae also offers duffy books. We have great books so we can read when were at home and in the holidays. We have boy books and girl books there are some books that are superhero books.

Today I made a hexagonal prism which  has 8 faces, 18 edges and 12 vertices.

Boxes are made to hold or store things. Boxes are used for packaging

I learnt about 3d shapes and how to create one. I also learned that creases are important to make a nice sharp looking shape.

Visit to Glenn Innes Library .

Today Room 7 went to visit the Glenn Innes library to learn some Te reo Maori. First we got split in to two groups. My group learnt how to use a wooden baton called a patu and the other group learnt how to use a rakau it was really exiting because there was  a legend of Tamaki Makaurau. And the cool thing about it that Room 7 stared in the performance. 

My roll in the performance was one of was one of the warriors from the warriors that had the patu I re kin that the patu side won and I really enjoyed the performance.

Today me and my family had a really fun morning.my two sisters,Mother and I went to Glenn Innes to go to the doctors because my mum had the flu and suddenly when we were go towards the doctors I saw Charlie in the internet caffe. so then I quickly said hello to him and went with my family to the doctors I asked my mum if I can go outside and play with Charlie she said yes so then I quickly ran out side and suddenly he finished in the internet caffe  so then I asked him if he wanted to play with me on the swings Charlie said OK he asked if I wanted some mallow puffs. there the best chocolate so I couldn't rezesed so I yes we were eating then after that we went to the barb a shop to cut Charlie s hair when the hair dresser was finished cutting he's hair Charlie looked so cool then I asked were are you going now he said have to go home.     

A great time at the park.

Today on Wednesday 8 July 2015 me and my family went to the park we didn't go by car. we went by a bike it was good fitness for us when we got to the park we straight away went to the swings it was fun because we felt the wind in my face and in my hair the park that we went to was the Pt England park this is a picture of the park.

Movie Night With My Family

science week

Glen brae school had a science week in term 2 week 10. The Senior students  were involved in the making of science. This was part of the science curriculum.

On Monday room 7 had Mrs Raj as our teacher the material  for the experiment that we used was a cup of coffee and a glass. Mrs Raj put the glass on top of the cup of coffee we watched well as the steam raised up up to the second cup. When we took the second cup off we saw little droplets.

I had a good time with Mrs Raj

learning about evaporation, condensation, the water cycle, 3 states of matter and the 3 forms of water.

On Tuesday room 7 had science again but with Mrs Parker. We made bread this time  and we used ,yeast ,warm water ,flour and many other ingredients. we had two breads to taste bread one and bread two  liked bread one because it was crunchy and tasty.

Science week

Today Glenbrae school had our inquiry road show. This is when all the classes share what they have learned during the term.we Share our learning by creating presentations posters,diagrams and hands-on activity's. I enjoyed holding the room 4 children s hand and taking them around to the other presentations and reading them to the room 4 kids.
